Sara & James - St Ann's Church and Castlefield Wedding

Wedding Photography in Manchester

Check out over 140 of my favourite photos from Sara and James’ recent wedding which took place at St Ann’s Church in central Manchester with couple portraits in.

Sara & James are such a fun and ‘up for anything’ couple to work with - just checkout the fun we had on their engagement shoot!

The couple had their wedding drinks reception in the church whilst we captured some fun group shots outside. We also captured some creative long-exposure photos with the couple stood in the centre of busy St Ann’s Square. Using the bridal party to help create some movement and frame the couple, these are some of my favourite couple portraits that I’ve captured on a wedding and special thanks to Sara & James for being up to the challenge and standing perfectly still for a few seconds at a time!

We then ventured over to Castlefield to capture some super cool couple portraits within this industrial Manchester setting. I love photographing couples around Castlefield as there’s so many cool and varied backgrounds, impressive architectural features and street-art. With Sara being a bridge engineer, this location provided the perfect background for the couple!

Finally, our last location for the wedding breakfast and party was the Seven Brothers bar at Middlewood Locks. Using colourful smoke bombs again, we photographed some fun shots with their bridal party next to the canal. Lighting these scene was particularly challenging as it was pitch dark at the time but thankfully our Profoto lighting didn’t let us down!

We had such a great time covering your wedding and creating these beautiful images of your wedding! Thank you SO much for choosing us to shoot your wedding!

All the best for the future!

Wedding Photography in Castlefield

Castlefield in Manchester provides the perfect backdrop for couples looking to get married. There are many locations within walking distance for wedding venues including Castlefield Rooms, Great John Street Hotel and Manchester Hall. When shooting weddings in Manchester, I often take my couples there for the variety of industrial and urban backgrounds. If you’re into your bridges, it’s the perfect place as there’s a huge variety of brick, steel and modern bridges, canals, modern and traditional architecture. It’s such an eclectic mix which makes for a super cool and modern location for young couples getting married in Manchester.

A passion of mine is to also capture dramatic and scenic shots of weddings in Castlefield with my drone too. Manchester’s skyline is constantly evolving so it looks different every time I photograph a wedding there with a drone!

Manchester Wedding Photographer

I’m an award winning wedding photographer based in Manchester so very local to the area. I love exploring all different parts of Manchester including nearby areas such as Castlefield, Spinningfields, Deansgate, Northern Quarter, St Peters Square and the many rivers and canals that pass through the area. I most love to photograph areas that offer a variety of cool backgrounds whether that be super modern buildings made of steel and glass or very old traditional Manchester buildings made from red-brick or the impressive railway bridges that come in and out of Piccadilly Train Station.
